Japanese Statement
Artist Statement

My interest has always been in imagining the other side of things.

I always try to see the parts that cannot be read only from the surface, and the parts that can be overlooked.

The reason I think like this is due in that I was born half-American and half-Japanese.
I have been judged on how do I look and what's written on the papers.

But that's why I know how important the things that appear , the things that actually exist, are also important to me.
That's why I use this body to create my art works.

I try to leave traces of the process in my works and install them in the space so that anybody who saw my work can get an experience or relive experience in a new way.
I want to cherish the things far away from me and the things in front of me equally, and I want to know things equally in the past, the future, and the present.

And I create my work by intertwining them with the words "road" "distance".
